Church profile
Summary
Your church profile tells Safe Pathways who you are: your name, province, contact details, mailing address, logo, and language. A few of these fields quietly drive other parts of the platform, province most of all. This article walks through each field, what it affects, and how to save your changes.
Who this is for
- Church Administrators with access to Settings
- Account Owners
What you’ll need
Make sure you have:
- Admin access with permission to edit church settings
- Your church’s details on hand: name, mailing address, main contact, and a square logo image
Before you start
The church profile lives in Settings. Select Settings in the left menu of the Admin Dashboard, and the first tab, Church Info, is the profile.
One field deserves its own sentence: Province. Safe Pathways applies province-specific screening requirements to your church automatically based on the province you select, so volunteers in Ontario and volunteers in Alberta can each be held to the right standard without you building anything. Set the province correctly before you start assigning pathways.
Steps to update your church profile
1. Open Settings and the Church Info tab
Select Settings in the left menu. The Church Info tab opens first.

2. Fill in the main details
- Church Name: how your church appears across Safe Pathways, including in the emails and forms volunteers and references see.
- Province: drives the province-specific screening requirements applied to your church.
3. Set your contact details
Main Contact Name, Primary Church Email, Primary Church Phone, and Website. These are how Safe Pathways and your volunteers identify and reach your church office.
4. Choose your default language
English or Français. This sets the default language for your church’s account.
5. Enter the mailing address
Address, city, province, and postal code (the postal code capitalizes itself).
6. Upload your church logo
Drag and drop a square image onto the logo area, or click it to browse. Accepted formats are .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, and .png.
7. Select Save
The Save button sits at the bottom of the tab. Changes apply right away.
What happens next
Your profile feeds the rest of the platform: the province keeps the right screening requirements applied (volunteers see any extra items on their Home page under Additional Requirements), and your name and logo show up wherever your church does. From here, the other Settings tabs cover integrations, notifications, and more; see Advanced settings for the map.
If a colleague edits settings at the same time as you, Safe Pathways warns you about conflicting changes and offers a Reload. Reload, then reapply your edits.
Troubleshooting
The fields are greyed out
- Your admin role can view settings but not edit them. Ask your Account Owner to review your role.
The logo won’t upload
- Check the format: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .png.
- Use a reasonably sized square image; very large files take longer and may time out on slow connections.
A “conflicting changes” message appeared
- Someone else saved settings while you had the page open. Select Reload, confirm their changes, then make yours again.
I picked the wrong province
- Change it and save. Province-specific requirements update to match.
- If volunteers still show requirements from the old province the next day, contact Safe Pathways support.
Notes
- The church profile is the Church Info tab in Settings.
- Province selection drives province-specific screening requirements automatically.
- The logo wants a square image in .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .png format.
- Default language can be English or Français.
- Save before leaving the tab; the conflicting-changes warning protects you from overwriting a colleague.
