Setting up your church profile

Your church profile is the foundation of your Safe Pathways account. Add your church details so volunteers, certificates, and communications all reflect your church's identity.

What the church profile is for

Your church profile tells Safe Pathways who you are. The details you enter on the Church Info tab flow into several places across the platform:
  • Volunteer-facing screens (login page, certificates, emails)
  • The footer of your Audit Report for insurance and denominational reviews
  • Communications sent to volunteers (welcome emails, reminders, completion notices)
  • Your CanPro SOS profile (if you choose to enable background check integration later)
It's the first onboarding step because almost every other feature pulls from it.
ℹ️  You're on the Church Info tab
The Church Settings page has eight tabs: Church Info, Integrations, Notifications, Screening Rules, Tags, Custom Requirements, Billing, and Administrators. During onboarding you'll start on Church Info — the others are covered in later onboarding steps or in the Admin Dashboard after setup.

Filling out the Church Info tab

The form is split into three columns: church details on the left, mailing address in the middle, and your church logo on the right.

Mailing Address

Enter your church's primary mailing address. If your church operates from multiple sites, use the address of your administrative office or central campus.
  • Mail Address — street address, including unit or suite number if applicable
  • City
  • Province — select from the dropdown
  • Postal code — Canadian format (e.g. M5V 2T6)

Church Logo

Upload  your church logo. It appears on the volunteer login screen, automated emails, and certificates, so volunteers recognize they're in the right place.
  • PNG with a transparent background works best
  • Minimum 400 × 400 pixels for a crisp display on retina screens
  • Click the upload area or the Choose file button to select your image

Saving your changes

Once you've filled in the fields and uploaded your logo, click the burgundy Save button at the bottom right of the page.
Unlike the Policies and Reference Questions pages, the Church Info tab requires you to click Save before leaving. If you navigate away without saving, your changes will be lost.

What volunteers see

Your church name and logo appear on the login screen when volunteers sign in. They also appear at the top of every training pathway, on completion certificates, and in the footer of automated emails. The default language you set determines whether new volunteers see English or French content out of the gate.
ℹ️ Why this matters for trust
Volunteers — especially those new to your church — feel more confident completing training when they recognize your church's name and branding throughout the experience. A complete profile reduces "is this real?" support questions during launch.

Updating your profile later

You can return to your church profile at any time from the Admin Dashboard:
  1. From the dashboard, open Church Settings
  2. Stay on the Church Info tab (it opens by default)
  3. Edit any field, then click Save
Changes apply immediately to new certificates and emails. Previously issued certificates keep their original details.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to enter every campus if we're a multi-site church?
No — enter your administrative or central address. If you need separate reporting per campus, contact admin@safepathways.com to discuss a multi-site setup.
Can volunteers switch between English and French on their own?
Yes. The Default Language sets the starting language for new volunteers, but each volunteer can switch between English and French from their own profile at any time. All Safe Pathways content is fully bilingual.
Who should I list as the Main Contact?
The person most likely to act on a Safe Pathways email — typically the safeguarding lead, executive pastor, or office administrator. You can add additional admin team members on the Administrators tab in the next onboarding step.
