What “Your church staff tasks” means (what you can’t complete yourself)

Summary

Volunteer Home includes a collapsed section called Your church staff tasks. This section shows screening items that your church staff must complete, so you can understand what may still be pending even after you finish your own tasks. Volunteers can view these items, but cannot complete them themselves.

What you’ll need

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Volunteer account in Safe Pathways

  • Access to the Home page in your Volunteer dashboard

Before you start

Some screening requirements in Safe Pathways are managed by your church staff rather than by you.

These appear under Your church staff tasks on the Home page.

This section is read-only for volunteers and may include items such as:

  • Church Participation

  • References

  • Police Check

These items help explain why you may not yet be cleared, even if you have already completed your pathways and policy acknowledgements.

Steps to view your church staff tasks

1. Open the Home page

In the left-side menu, click Home.

2. Scroll to Your church staff tasks

Scroll down the page until you see Your church staff tasks.

This section is collapsed by default.

3. Expand the section

Open Your church staff tasks to view the screening items listed there.

4. Review the staff-managed items

Read through the items shown in the section. These are tasks your church staff must manage or confirm.

The helper text shown in the app may include:

  • Church Participation: “You’ve been actively attending our church for at least 6 months.”

  • References: “Two adults vouched for you to be a safe person.”

  • Police Check: “You have cleared the police check.”

5. Contact your church administrator if needed

If one of these items is still not cleared and you have questions, contact your church administrator.

You cannot complete these items yourself from your Volunteer account.

What happens next

If your pathways and policies are complete but you are still not cleared, staff-managed tasks are often what remains.

Your church administrator can tell you what is still pending and whether they need any additional information from you.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find Your church staff tasks
    • Scroll further down on the Home page.
    • This section appears below References.
    • If you still do not see it, contact your church administrator.

 

I think one of the items is incorrect
    • Contact your church administrator and explain what appears to be wrong.
    • If the issue is about a police check or another submitted item, include the date you provided it if possible.
Why can’t I complete these tasks myself
    • Your church staff tasks is a read-only section for volunteers.
    • These items must be completed, reviewed, or confirmed by your church staff.

  • Your church staff tasks shows screening items managed by your church staff

  • Volunteers can view this section, but cannot complete the items themselves

  • If you feel finished but are still not cleared, this section may explain what is still pending
