What your church handles for you (and what you can’t complete yourself)

Some screening steps are completed by your church rather than by you. These church-handled items appear on your Overview page, inside Your safeguarding checklist, marked "Your church arranges this for you." On the old volunteer home page they lived in a section called Your church staff tasks; this article explains where they are now and what they mean.

Before you start

Some screening requirements are managed by your church staff rather than by you. They may include items such as:

Processing your Police Check
Verifying your references
Confirming your church participation
These rows are read-only for volunteers. You can see where each one stands, but you cannot complete them yourself, and that is by design.
Steps to view your church-handled items

1. Open your Overview page

2. Read Your safeguarding checklist

Each screening step is listed with its state. Completed rows are marked complete.

3. Look for "Your church arranges this for you."

Rows with this note are handled by your church staff. There is nothing for you to do on them, they will complete as your church works through its side.

What happens next

As your church staff complete each item, the row updates on its own. Once every step is complete, your Authorized Adult status updates automatically.

Troubleshooting

A church-handled row has been sitting incomplete for a long time

Your church staff may be waiting on something outside Safe Pathways, for example a Police Check result. If you are unsure, ask your church administrator where it stands.

I think a row is wrong

Contact your church administrator. They can see the same items on your profile and correct anything out of date.
